River swimming Safety Tips
  • Ensure you are fit and healthy to swim in cold water.

  • Any cuts or open wounds: sorry, we would recommend you don't swim.

  • Any Heart health problems: sorry, we would recommend you don't participate. 

  • Be mindful not to stay in too long. Approximately one minute a degree. If the temperature is 4 degrees you can stay in 4 minutes.

  • Wear shoes you are happy getting wet, no cut feet this Christmas. 

  • Only submerge up to the neck. Do not put your head under the water. 

  • Wash your hands before eating, drinking or smoking.
